Chelsea star reveals how Antonio Conte plans to ‘hurt’ Arsenal in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi final

Andreas Christensen has pointed out how Chelsea are planning to ‘hurt’ Arsenal in tonight’s Carabao Cup semi final.

The Blues and Gunners have met five times in the last one year, in three different competitions and Arsene Wenger’s men have emerged victorious twice, while stifling a draw out of the Blues twice.

The North Londoners seem to have the edge against Chelsea now but Christensen believes Antonio Conte has mapped out a strategy to beat his opponents on Wednesday. According to the young Dane, mistakes will not be repeated.

“We have watched a lot of videos from the game against Arsenal last week,’ he said. ‘We made some mistakes, and they did, and we’ve had to look at what we can do better and where we can hurt them. Looking at the video, we were a little bit open so in training we have worked to try and minimise our mistakes to be fully prepared.

We are well prepared and looking forward to it, it’s an important game. It’s the type of game I was looking to be involved in when I went out on loan.”

Christensen is set to be in the squad against Arsenal after he signed a new contract with the club that keeps him in their books until 2022. His performances this season have not gone unnoticed as he’s earned 22 appearances this season, following a successful loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Chelsea will be hoping to beat Arsenal over the two legs in this semi final, and take one more step in winning a silverware this season after the Premier League’s hopes were dashed by crashing defeats and the scintillating form by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
