Chelsea receive good news after recent transfer allegations

Chelsea have been cleared of any wrongdoing in the recent signing of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley after the Mayor of Liverpool claimed there had been ‘fraud’ in the deal.

The Blues sealed the signing of Barkley this January transfer window for a fee of £15 million. The midfielder was close to a move to Stamford Bridge last summer transfer window but the deal was pulled back after the player decided in the final hours to return to Merseyside and recover from his hamstring injury.

A surgery had been done and Barkley took his time in recovery until the winter transfer window when he could complete the deal with Chelsea.

However, after a cut-price deal for Chelsea, the fraud allegations began although now denied by the Merseyside Police.

According to the BBC, the Meyseyside Police investigations prove Chelsea and Everton were not involved in any foul play in the deal but stated ‘police would look at the deal again if either found any evidence in their own investigations’.

Barkley has yet to play for Chelsea as he continues his full recovery from the severe hamstring tear.
