Chelsea give up on signing one of last summer’s priority targets

Chelsea will not be going in for Alex Sandro next summer, and would rather focus on landing Alex Tellex from FC Porto, giving Manchester United a free path to sign the Juventus ace.

The Blues According to Calciomercato, the Blues will not fight for Sandro, who they battled for, for the majority of last summer’s transfer window.

The Juventus top brass consider Sandro one of their best players and would only listen to offers around the expected £53 million price next summer and that may have deterred Chelsea who feel the fee is too much for the left full back. They would rather go in for Sandro’s compatriot, Telles, currently playing in FC Porto.

Chelsea have hung on to Marcos Alonso for almost two season’s now without a recognized natural left back back up in the first team and have been monitoring the situation at Juventus as a deal for Sandro was readied. But eh emergence of the cheaper Telles in Europe has taken their attention of their prime target.

Meanwhile, Juventus director Beppe Morata has alerted all interested clubs they will not stand in the way of Sandro, if the player wishes to leave, per Calciomercato.
