Chelsea finally open talks with for Premier League side for striker

Chelsea are preparing a bid for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll although a formal bid is yet to be made according to Matt Law of the Telegraph.

The Blues require a striker this month as they look set to ship off Michy Basthuayi on loan for the rest of the season, or permanently depending on who is asking, as Alvaro Morata keeps struggling in his first season in England.

The Spanish striker has scored 12 goals this season in all competitions but some of the chances he’s missed has been of great concern to fans and technical team alike and the latter now want to provide the squad with a quality back up option.

Carroll has long bee linked with a loan move to Stamford Bridge but West Ham also deny receiving any enquiry.

If Chelsea a re able to seal the deal for Carroll, Batshuayi will be allowed to leave for the La Liga with Sevilla still interested in the Belgium international.
