Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund set for talks over striker deal

Michy Batshuayi is set to be the subject of transfer talks between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund as the German side look to replace the soon to depart Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international is said to be close to joining Arsenal, who are also about losing Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, as far as the reports go.

The ironic fact is that Chelsea used to be the subject of transfer links with Aubameyang but it’s the Gunners who are acting first and fast.

The Mirror quotes Bild as saying the 2016 African Player of the Year has agreed personal terms with the forward and a deal may be announced soon.

Should Aubameyang leave Dortmund this month, the Bundesliga club are reportedly eyeing Batshuayi as replacement and the report goes on to say the Belgium international was already in talks to join Dortmund before he finally signed for Chelsea.

Batshuayi has been deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea, with Antonio Conte preferring to go with summer signing Alvaro Morata despite Batshuayi’s nine goals in 20 appearances this season.
