Antonio Conte has made a bold statement that Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will remain at the Emirates beyond this month’s transfer window.
The Chile international has been one of the most talked about players in the winter transfer window after he almost completed a move to join Manchester City last summer. The deal fell through and the expectation was he would seal the dream move to join Pep Guardiola’s side this month.
But he remains at the Emirates and despite reports of suspicions in his absence from Arsenal’s FA Cup 3rd exit to Nottingham Forest, as he did not want to be cup tied in the competition if he moves to a Premier League rival this month, Chelsea manager Conte insists Sanchez will remain an Arsenal player after the transfer window.
“My expectation is to see the best team from Arsenal. I have this expectation to play against the best team.
For sure we are talking about an important player, about a good player. In my opinion I think Sanchez will finish the season at Arsenal…this is my opinion, I don’t know.”
