Chelsea fans have proven unforgiving of their faltering stars recently on social media, especially when the results don’t go their way and their latest victim was Alvaro Morata who seemed out of luck and top form in the Blues clash against Arsenal.
The fixture was before one of the most anticipated for Chelsea fans who knew the worst result was always a draw. Wins came in their numbers in the days of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and even Luis Felipe Scolari.
However, in recent times Chelsea have found it difficult against Arsenal and in the last game on Wednesday, Morata was the scapegoat for angry fans. He wasted two clear chances, one-on-one with the Gunners goalkeeper, leaving Chelsea to dig deeper in search of goals to seal a win, which did not happen in the end.
After the backlash received on social media, Morata responded with a tweet of his won, promising to work hard to win back the trust of his fans.
