Willian makes decision on Chelsea future amid Manchester United interest

Chelsea forward Willian has stated his commitment to Chelsea amid interest from Manchester United in January.

The Brazil international has not featured prominently in Chelsea’s campaign this season with Antonio Conte preferring to go with a five-man midfield that significantly cuts his attacking numbers. That has restricted Willian to the Chelsea bench along with Pedro as Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata start upfront in a 3-5-2 system.

The former Chelsea Player of the Year has received reported interest from former manager Jose Mourinho who is keen on reuniting with his hardworking winger at Man United.

He has however, began showing tremendous quality in recent games he has been played in, making it difficult for Conte to do away with him in the coming transfer window. This stat from Opta on Twitter tells the story of a man in fine remaking.

He definitely has a part to play in Chelsea potential title defense and it will be nonsensical to let the 29-year old leave for a rival club, and Willian, who loves the club in his heart, is adamant he will remain with the Blues for the foreseeable future.

“Always when I play, I want to play well and make the difference with my teammates,” Willian told BT Sport. “Of course, I want to play every game – everyone wants to play every game – but only 11 can start. So always I do my job.”
