Pep Guardiola leaves out Man United in list of teams “wanting to play football”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has called Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, the two other teams aside his, that are ready to play good football in the Premier League.

According to the Spanish manager, other top sides in the Premier League try too much to be pragmatic in their tactics when they face other top sides, taking out the entertainment factor in top games.

In what many say is a dig at Man United manager Jose Mourinho, Guardiola left out the Red Devils when asked which other teams have impressed him with their styles.

I think Tottenham are with Chelsea as the best team in wanting to play football.

They don’t expect their opponents (to force the play), they want to make their own game. It is another amazing test for us after games every three days.

Despite it being a dig at Mourinho, Conte’s protagonists will be happy another top rival manager is noticing the work being done by Chelsea’s Italian manager.

Despite losing some games in his time as Chelsea coach, Conte has always guided his teams to play football and not sit back to defend in crucial games. He is mostly capable of getting this Chelsea side to play even against the best teams on the planet.

The game against Atletico Madrid away in the Champions League goes a long way to prove that. The manner through which Chelsea beat teams on route to the Premier League title success last season is also another telling fact to why Guardiola praises Conte’s efforts.
