Newcastle find a chink in Andreas Christensen’s armour

Antonio Conte is known for his incredible attention to detail and his exhaustive video sessions after games breaking down what his team did well and what they did badly.

In the game Andreas Christensen has played since he forced his way into the first team, Conte will have struggled to find a single error to call out, and the breakdowns of the Dane’s performances will have looked like highlight reels as much as anything.

But today against Newcastle the defender let himself get pinned and then beaten in the air by Dwight Gayle, moments before the forward poked home the opening goal.

It’s only a chink in his armour, but Conte will finally have a small black mark to put against the string of gold stars that Christensen has next to his name in the dressing room.
