Why Kenedy will not be allowed on loan

Chelsea’s Brazilian misfit Kenedy has been linked with a move away from the club on sites like TalkSport in recent days.

A loan or permanent transfer makes sense from the former Fluminense player’s point of view as he’s barely playing at the moment. But it can’t be allowed to happen.

The issue is that Chelsea have nobody to cover for Marcos Alonso at left wing back. Kenedy has been overlooked in favour of playing Victor Moses or Davide Zappacosta out of position there in recent games, but upcoming matches in the cups against Norwich and Bournemouth will surely finally get him some more minutes on the pitch.

Long term, it’s hard to see his future at the club, but in the short term, unless the club sign a left back in January, he is staying put. Antonio Conte’s squad is too thin to let anyone go at this point – even Kenedy.
