Marcos Alonso is the Premier League’s most attack minded defender according a statistic revealed by the premier League’s official twitter account on Tuesday.
The left full back has been on of Chelsea’s most reliable players in attack, putting in a great shift upfront while not forgetting his core responsibilities as a defender.
Alonso scored six goals in his maiden Premier League season as Chelsea thumped their opponents on route to the title under Antonio Conte. The Spanish defender has scored another three goals this season to take his tally in the top flight to nine since he arrived from Fiorentina in the summer of 2016.
Following his latest contribution to a goal, in the Premier League champions 3-1 win over Huddersfield , Tuesday night, he was revealed as the highest contributor to goals in the division by a defender.

Alonso is Chelsea’s only recognized left full back in the first team and has been featured prominently for the Blues starting all of his side’s games this season in the Premier League.
