Eden Hazard leaves out Alvaro Morata in Chelsea forwards’ praise

Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield in the Premier League was particularly impressive after the loss to West Ham United last weekend and more so doing it without lead striker Alvaro Morata.

Antonio Conte decided on Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian in attack after Morata was ruled out of the game due to a back injury he suffered in the build up to the game. Michy Batshuayi was left out of the starting 11 for the game despite Chelsea needing a natural striker.

The link up play between Hazard, Pedro and Willian was delightful at times in the game, producing three goals for the Blues against Huddersfield. Hazard played as the false nine and was flanked by Pedro and Willian who grabbed two of the three goals for Chelsea in the game.

“We had a bad game against West Ham. When things happen like this we need to bounce back.

There was fantastic movement from the front three. Well, when you have the players we have. The manager wants us to move a lot, not stay in the same position. We scored three goals, the fans will be happy.”

The front three that started against Huddersfield will be broken though in Chelsea’s home game against Southampton, as Conte is likely to play the Blues’ regular front two of the returning Morata and Hazard.
