Eden Hazard gives away MOTM award while laughing off Chelsea’s title hopes

Chelsea returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening.

The Blues were shockingly defeated by West Ham last Saturday afternoon, having their margin to league leaders Manchester City extended to 14 points.

Great goals from Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Pedro handed Chelsea the full three points from The John Smith Stadium despite a late Laurent Depoitre header declining the Blues from a clean-sheet. Chelsea’s Belgian magician Eden Hazard was not directly involved in any goal, but was named as the man of the match as he orchestrated almost each and every Blues attack.

The 26-year-old didn’t feel like deserving it though, as he decided to give it away for Willian, who bagged a goal and two assists in fine fashion.

Willian and Hazard were interviewed by BT Sport after the game and the two Chelsea stars left each other in stitches after laughing off the Blues’ title chances after closing the gap to 11 points.

In case you can’t hear it from the video above, here’s what the two said:

“We know it is difficult. It is 14 points (to Manchester City)”, said Willian. Hazard then interrupted him, saying: “It is 11 now – we are back in it”, before both of them bursted into laughter.

It’s might sound impossible to catch City before the end of the season, but we shouldn’t stop trying!
