Damning stat proves that Chelsea need January attacker urgently

There was one stat above all that Chelsea fans won’t be able to bear from yesterday’s game against West Ham.

Despite dominating possession in the second half, the Blues were unable to get a single shot on target through the entire 45 minutes.

What this shows, essentially, is that the Chelsea players weren’t able get themselves into position to shoot with enough space to actually test the keeper. The chances they had were in positions where the player wasn’t able make a dangerous attempt at goal.

This is seriously worrying for the team. West Ham had no interest in attacking or even having the ball, as evidenced by the 71.8% possession the away side.

Antonio Conte had pretty much all of his offensive firepower on the field, and they couldn’t muster a shot.

This just goes to show how important it is that Chelsea look to upgrade an attack that relies almost entirely on Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata. Other options are needed for situations exactly like this.
