Chelsea target in London but looking far from Stamford Bridge switch

One of Chelsea’s summer targets appears to be close to securing a move from his current club, but not to West London.

Steven N’Zonzi is being frozen out by Eduardo Berizzo in La Liga, and looks set for a January move.

The Sevilla man confirmed in France Football that he had been in London during his involuntary absence from  the team, but he scoffed at the claims he was in the country to secure a deal with Arsenal or anyone else – although one never knows who he and his agent might “coincidentally” have run into in a London hotel somewhere.

At this stage, with the club committed to summer signings Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater, a move for N’Zonzi looks unlikely. However given the unhappiness in some circles about the signings of both of those players, there will be plenty of fans looking enviously at where the striding central midfielder heads next.
