Chelsea given boost in chase for £60m Brazilian

Chelsea have been given a huge boost in the pursuit of a star new left wing back, according to the Telegraph.

The Blues have been on Alex Sandro’s tail for some time, and they made a series of bids in the summer that failed to reach the required price needed to persuade Juventus to sell.

But apparently now the Brazilian is pushing for an exit from the Italian champions. Links from a couple of months ago claimed the Blues were ready to sanction a £60m bid. IT may take significantly more than that to secure him in January.

Marcos Alonso has no cover down the left, and today Davide Zappacosta was forced to play out of position to give the Spaniard a rest.

Signing someone to compete with him is a priority for Chelsea in January, and even if they can’t land Sandro then they may move for a short term solution.
