Chelsea boss punished by FA for Swansea sideline action

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been charged with misconduct after getting sent to the stands in Wednesday night’s game against Swansea , report the BBC.

He has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charges, which came after he was punished for shouting at the fourth official. He was sent to the stands in the 43rd minute.

The Italian coach is known for his lively sideline activity, but this is the first time it has got him in disciplinary trouble in England. While at Juventus he suffered a similar fate after a Juventus game against Genoa.

The manager was complaining about excessive time-wasting by the Swansea players, as early as the tenth minute. A dreadful corner decision from Neil Swarbrick then sparked the Conte powder keg.

However he admitted in his press conference after the game that he had overstepped the mark when confronting the referee’s assistant, and had gone to apologise to the whole team of match officials.
