Antonio Conte told to give Blues winger another chance against Newcastle

Antonio Conte has been told to give Willian more opportunities to shine in the coming weeks.

Former Chelsea star and current football columnist Pat Nevin believes that the Brazilian winger’s current form should not go unnoticed by the manager, as the Blues are set for a very winnable run of games in the Premier League.

Conte’s men are set to face Newcastle at home this weekend, before hosting Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night’s last tie of Champions League’s group stage.

Willian chips the ball into the back of the net for a deserved Chelsea equalizer.

Nevin wrote on his latest column that Willian, who has recently been linked with a move away from Chelsea, would really deserve to start more games and prove Conte that he still has a role to fight for in the team.

“The Brazilian certainly hasn’t let me down.

With the block of games coming up being very winnable, Willian in particular will be desperate to have a few more chances to keep his scoring run going.”

Willian has been involved in five of Chelsea’s last six goals in all competitions, as he scored and assisted two against Qarabag FK in Azerbaijan before chipping in the Blues’ late equalizer against Liverpool in last weekend’s vital league game at Anfield. He also started the game against Swansea this weekend, and played really well in the comfortable 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
