What Alvaro Morata is doing better than Didier Drogba already

Alvaro Morata has said he’s learning from watching DVDs of Didier Drogba, and while there are some things the Spaniard can learn from the Chelsea legend, there are some things he’s doing better already.

Morata has only been in England a few months, but while he’s had a quiet patch recently, he’s already on course for a far more successful debut campaign than Drogba.

The Ivorian arrived from Marseille with a huge amount of hype, but it took him until his second season to truly bed in. He didn’t score a huge number of goals in that first 12 months, and he scored 16 goals in 40 games after missing two months of the season with an injury.

Morata meanwhile has 10 goals already, 9 coming in the Premier League, and he can comfortably expect to finish with 20 in all competitions, and perhaps that many in the league alone.

If he can pick up the knack that Drogba had for goals at Wembley, he might also be marking his first 12 months with silverware just like his predecessor.
