“We will see what happens” – Eden Hazard shocks Chelsea fans as he refuses to rule out Real Madrid move

Eden Hazard has once again begun his campaign of flirting with Europe’s top clubs, this time speaking on Canal+ and refusing to rule out a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Fresh from inspiring Chelsea to a 4-0 win over Qarabag that has seen them into the knockout stages of the Champions League, Hazard discussed his future and seemed to indicate that his decision would depend on how the rest of this season goes.

“The moment to leave will be when I want to leave. I want to finish this year and then we will see what happens. Everybody knows the admiration that I have for Real Madrid. But for the moment I am a Blues. Each year people say stuff about Eden, and each year I have always stayed at the club. When I was at Lille, people started saying PSG, I stayed at Lille. Chelsea every year I am mentioned with PSG and Real Madrid… If you want to see me go somewhere you need to stop asking me.”

While it’s understandable that Hazard wants to see how successful this season ends up being, it’s tough to see what would keep him here. The Premier League looks almost out of reach already, while the Champions League is more open than in recent years, but the Blues look to be some way off good enough to win it.

That leaves the FA Cup and the League Cup – would winning even both of those convince Hazard he’s in the right place?
