West Brom 0-4 Chelsea – Player Ratings

Chelsea battered West Brom into submission in an easy win at the Hawthorns.

Alvaro Morata gave them an early lead when he brushed in a rebound, and then Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso added to the total before half time.

Eden Hazard scored another after the break, and the game was effectively over.

Here are our ratings from today’s featured Chelsea players…

Starting Eleven:

Thibaut Courtois – 7 – Was let off the hook after fumbling West Brom’s disallowed goal. After that was barely tested.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7 – Totally untroubled by Rondon’s lone presence and was calm all game until he was involved in a defensive mixup with 5 minutes to go.

Andreas Christensen – 8 – Ridiculously classy and untroubled by a meagre West Brom offensive effort.

Gary Cahill – 7 – Solid on the left of the three and looked unaffected by his recent back problems.

Davide Zappacosta – 7 – Intermittently threatening down the right, mixing promising bursts forward with a few defensive misjudgments.

N’Golo Kante – 8 – Ticked along nicely in midfield with Bakayoko controlling the game and providing Fabregas with a platform.

Cesc Fabregas – 8 – Some lovely touches and some sloppy passes, but largely untroubled in so much space in the middle of the pitch. Was booked and could have been sent off, but provided the assist for the fourth goal.

Marcos Alonso – 7 – Had a slow start with a few crosses and shots going wildly wide, but made up for it by netting the killer third with a lovely cushioned volley from a tight angle.

Tiemoue Bakayoko- 7 – Played a more conservative and impressive game deeper in midfield. Had a great chance to open the scoring after a lovely turn but screwed his shot wide.

Alvaro Morata – 9 – Scored the opener then assisted the second. Looked really up for the physical battle and relished turning Hegazi inside out.

Eden Hazard – 10 – What can you say. A superb performance. Made goals, scored goals. Looked hungry and involved from the very start.
