Cesar Azpilicueta clocks lowest score against West Brom despite good performance

Chelsea put in a confident performance against West Brom on Saturday, sweeping Tony Pulis’ side away without too much difficulty.

The Blues were excellent pretty much across the park, with Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata leading the way with exceptional games.

The midfield and wing backs did their job too, while the defence wasn’t tested much by a feeble Baggies attack.

Perhaps this lead to the surprise selection on Whoscored of Cesar Azpilicueta as the worst player in the Chelsea team, with a 6.9 (which is should be pointed out is a good deal higher than the highest West Brom score: Kieran Gibbs with 6.5).

Azpi was actually excellent, as always, and just didn’t rack up the stats like Christensen and Cahill did to boost their numbers to 7.2 and 7.8 respectively.

The lowest score in midfield was Tiemoue Bakayoko, who got a 7.1, the second lowest on the team. He played well and showed once against how much he benefits from playing alongside N’Golo Kante.
