“I still think he has a big future at the club. He is a massive character in the dressing room and a top quality player. ” – Chelsea favourite backs outcast to return

David Luiz is set to make his first start in some time for Chelsea agaisnt Qarabag in the Champions League tomorrow night.

The Brazilian was dropped after Chelsea’s last game in the compeition – a 3-0 defeat against Roma, and has since sat out games against Man U and West Brom in the Premier League as well as having an international break on the training ground after not being included in the Brazil squad.

But despite this isolation, Chelsea favourite Frank Lampard is backing the lovable Brazilian to still play an important role in the rest of this season.

“I still think he has a big future at the club. He is a massive character in the dressing room and a top quality player,” Lampard said in his weekly column in the Evening Standard.

Certainly with the fixtures coming thick and fast now every man in this squad will be important, not least with games like tomorrow night’s, miles away in Azerbaijan.

As Lampard says, Luiz will get his chance again, and in the meantime needs to use his dressing room powers for good.
