Chelsea have been boosted in their race for Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as he’s been suspended from Borussia Dortmund’s matchday squad this weekend due to ‘disciplinary reasons’.
A statement on the club’s official Twitter page said: “Aubameyang has been removed from the squad for tomorrow’s match for disciplinary reasons.”

The 28-year-old was linked to a move away from the club in the summer, with Chelsea reportedly one of the favourites to land him. However, no club met his £60m asking price and so the player remained in Bundesliga.
Aubameyang has bagged ten goals in eleven league appearances to his name, but is currently in a five-game goal drought, which probably explains the striker’s disciplinary issues.
If Aubameyang fails to make up with the manager Peter Bosz, the former AC Milan striker could be on his way as soon as this January. After losing Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid, Antonio Conte could be tempted to plot something for Aubameyang.
