“He was a kid when he came to Chelsea…He’s a man now” – Jurgen Klopp warns Chelsea to expect a matured Mohamed Salah

Chelsea might be in for trouble on Saturday when they face Liverpool in the Premier League. They will not just be facing a top side in the country, but a former player who is in supreme shape at the moment.

Mohamed Salah was signed by Chelsea in 2014 from FC Basel, but the Egyptian played only 13 times for the Blues under then manager, Jose Mourinho before he was shipped off on loan to Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A.

It was in Italy, he made his mark and caught the attention of several European clubs including Liverpool who signed him last summer for £38 million.

Salah’s form and numbers are impressive, with nine goals in the Premier League, making him the most prolific Liverpool signing after 12 games. Klopp says his new danger man has matured since his days at Stamford Bridge.

He was a kid when he came to Chelsea, and in that time they were really successful. It was difficult to come through. He had a little bit less muscle, but his body shape is now different. He’s a man now.

Chelsea will face Liverpool next in the Premier League with both teams coming into the game with good wins on Saturday. Klopp’s men beat Southampton 3-0 at home while Chelsea secured a 4-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns.
