“He’s definitely world class” – Rio Ferdinand hails Chelsea star as reason Blues can go far in Champions league

Eden Hazard put in a fantastic display against Qarabag in the Champions League on Wednesday, to prompt exciting comments from BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand.

Hazard scored a goal from the penalty spot to open the scoring for Chelsea in Baku, Azerbaijan and also assisted Willian for the second goal on the night.

His display seemed to impress former Manchester United defender Ferdinand, who described him as a world class player.

He’s definitely world class. He’s the reason that Chelsea were winning the league. he’s the reason if they go deep in this competition he’s going to have to play a huge role and do what he did tonight.

Hazard looks a much more refresshed player than he was a few months ago after re recovered from his ankle injury. The Belgium international has began scoring for the Blues in games after he scored two against West Brom and grabbed another against Qarabag, and despite not finding the back of the net against Manchester United, his performance against the record Premier League title winners was particularly impressive.

Antonio Conte will rely on him to launch a title assault on leaders Manchester City. The Blues are nine points off in the title race and would relish a win at Liverpool in the Premier League. A Chelsea defeat an Anfield will spell doom for their title defense.
