“A very good player. He is strong, he has quality. He has a great future.” – Chelsea winger questions club’s decision to loan out youngster

Chelsea winger Willian has been speaking about his former teammate Ruben Loftus Cheek, and the Brazilian was very complimentary about the youngster.

The two were on opposing sides for the first time on Tuesday night when England faced Brazil at Wembley, and while RLC had to leave the field early, the impression he had made on Willian in training over the last couple of seasons was evident.

Inevitably the English press asked the former Shakhtar man what he made of our new favourite, and he responded extremely positively:

“I don’t know why he is at Crystal Palace now – he has to come back. A very good player. He is strong, he has quality. He has a great future.”

His words echo what many Chelsea fans think, and while he’s hardly likely to get into trouble for such an innocuous comment, it’s interesting to see that some players agree that RLC could and should be at the Bridge this year battling to get into the team rather than playing on loan at a struggling Crystal Palace team.

Perhaps the pair will be reunited under Antonio Conte next year. Here’s hoping.
