Antonio Conte has been speaking to the press ahead of Chelsea’s game against West Brom tomorrow, and while he was in a good mood when chatting about his new beard, when the discussion turned to David Luiz he was less happy.
Asked whether it was true that his relationship had broken down with the Brazilian defender after dropping him from the squad for the Man United game, Conte insisted that he didn’t want to speak about individuals, only the team.
Conte on David Luiz: "He is in the squad. It was a technical decision [to drop him]. Every single player has to react well and accept my decision." #CFC

While he insists it was a “technical” decision to drop Luiz, Conte clearly isn’t taking prisoners over the matter.
It’s hardly surprising to see Conte on such bristling form, given how frustrated he’s been with journalists over the last few months. When they open up a press conference by trying to stir the pot like this it’s inevitable he will be breaking out the stony stares.
