Chelsea could seal sensational free transfer to open door for first team player’s Real Madrid move

Chelsea are reportedly looking to strengthen their goalkeeping depth by signing one of the top stopper talents in the world – Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to sources including talkSPORT.

Kepa is a 23 year old who has taken La Liga by storm this year and already has the big teams like Real Madrid linked with his services. He’s likely to back up David de Gea at the World Cup next summer if he continues at this rate.

What makes the deal potentially even sweeter is that his contract is up at the end of the year, so Chelsea would be able to sign him in January on a deal that would see him arrive in the summer for free.

Complicating the whole matter is Thibaut Courtois. On the one hand, Real Madrid targeting Kepa means they won’t want the Belgian anymore. On the other hand, does us targeting the Basque stopped mean we think TBO’s on his way?
