Chelsea receive big update on Eden Hazard’s injury ahead of Premier League return

Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez has handed a huge boost to Chelsea ahead of the closing stages of the international break.

Eden Hazard was forced to miss Belgium’s team training after their friendly against Mexico last Thursday, as he reportedly suffered a minor injury in the 3-3 draw at the Heysel Stadion.

According to Martinez, though, Hazard’s injury is ‘nothing serious’, even though he’s likely to be rested over the Belgian’s upcoming friendly against Japan on Tuesday night.

The former Everton manager gave his verdict on the press ahead of tomorrow’s game: “Hazard did not train on Sunday but there is nothing serious.”

Hazard played 85 minutes of the match against Mexico, and scored the opening goal before suffering a knock. Chelsea fans will be hoping for the 26-year-old star to be fit once the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday as they travel to West Bromwich Albion.

Next week Chelsea will also be playing a vital Champions League clash against Qarabag FK, and then face Liverpool away in yet another important league clash.
