Antonio Conte prepares plan for hectic week of action

Chelsea come into this week on the back of two good results in a row in the Premier League, but it is from now on that their resources will really be stretched.

The Champions travel to Azerbaijan to play Qarabag on Wednesday, and then have to be in Merseyside to play Liverpool on Saturday evening.

It’s an insanely short turnaround, made slightly unfair by Liverpool who play tomorrow night rather than Wednesday, and in Seville rather than in heart of Asia.

The game against Qarabag is vitally important for Chelsea to secure their Champions League qualification, and Antonio Conte won’t be able to play the weakened team he would have been able to had his side beaten Roma in Rome. Still he will look to make multiple changes and still come away with points.

Chelsea must be warned however: Atletico failed to be the Azeris over two legs and they are not to be underestimated. Chelsea destroyed them at Stamford Bridge, but playing at their ground is a different story, especially now they’ve got 4 games under their belt to help them adjust to the top tier of European competition.
