Alvaro Morata has been a huge favourite for Chelsea fans since arriving from Real Madrid in the summer, and the forward has backed up his performances with goals. But today against Watford there was some serious criticism from the fanbase over his performance.
The striker – who only returned from injury in midweek – was removed after only an hour, presumably as an injury precaution, and fans pointed out that Michy Batsuayi, his replacement, netted twice in half an hour and did more than Morata did in his time on the pitch.
Morata did look to struggle against Watford’s physical approach, and was largely bullied out of the game despite some nice interchanges with Hazard.
