Rumours: Chelsea planning huge swoop for £88m rated forward

Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Romanian wonderkid Florinel Coman. The 19-year-old player has been attracting huge interest from top sides around the Europe recently.

Coman, who currently plays for Romanian side Steaua Bucurest, has a huge £88 million release clause on his deal. According to the Daily Mail, the high price hasn’t put the Blues off from the race.

Chelsea’s techincal director Michael Emenalo has reportedly flied off to Romania to see the player in action himself.

Florinel Coman has a £88m release clause on his contract with Steaua Bucurest.

Steaua only signed Coman last August in a deal worth just £2 million. They rate the winger very highly – as the release clause already indicates – and believe him to be on the same level as Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian M’bappe.

Coman has already made five appearances in the Romania U21 side and is said to be able to play in both wide and central role if needed.

Despite the tempting promises of the player ‘being on the same level as M’bappe’, it would be a ridiculous move for us to spend £88m on an unproven youngster like him. Especially when we have one rare Tammy Abraham yet to be given a chance for.
