Ajax are reportedly planning a bid for Chelsea’s American centre-back Matt Miazga ahead of this winter’s transfer window.
Dutch football website Soccernews.nl reports that the Blues value Miazga at around €8 million (£7.1m) and could be ready to offload the player should Ajax table an offer.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse Arnhem for a second season in a row. His performances have impressed the league rivals strongly.
Miazga has featured 39 times in the Ajax shirt during his two spells at Amsterdam Arena, and has also made three outings for United States’ international side.
Ajax sold their star defender Davinson Sanchez to Tottenham Hotspur this summer for €40m and are looking to bolster their defence as soon as possible.
Chelsea signed Miazga in January 2016 from MLS side New York Red Bulls. He has made two appearances in the Blues shirt – against Aston Villa and Swansea City.
