Rumors: Chelsea monitoring impressive Ghanaian striker

Ghanaian football news portal Ghanasoccernet is reporting that Chelsea are monitoring Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom.

Yiadom has enjoyed a great start to the season in the Serbian top division, scoring 10 goals in 16 games.

His recent call-ups to the Ghana national team by new head coach Kwesi Appiah confirms his return to top form after going through unsuccessful stints with Italian Serie A side Atalanta and Elche in Spain.

Antonio Conte knows the 24-year old well after he sanctioned his purchase while a Juventus manager in 2012.

Chelsea have been in search for a striker since last summer to compliment the efforts of Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi and Boakye Yiadom seems to be one of Conte’s options, after the report by GhanaSoccernet revealed Chelsea will send scouts to monitor Yiadom in Belgrade’s Europa League games against Arsenal on October 19 and November 2.

According to AS in Spain, Boakye Yiadom has scored 30 goals in the calendar year of 2017, making him one of the most prolific scorers in European football.

Valued at £10m, Chelsea will not have it difficult signing this striker from Belgrade.
