Eden Hazard cannot explain why Antonio Conte decided to take him off in Roma clash

Chelsea’s star forward Eden Hazard was lost for words when asked why Antonio Conte decided to withdraw him in the Blues 3-3 draw with AS Roma last Wednesday.

The Belgium international was on a hat trick at the time he was taken out in the second half and looked unhappy about the decision. Willian, the man who replaced Hazard has been critized in the last few weeks for his lackluster performances.

Chelsea fans in the stadium as well were not pleased by the substitution as their star was on his way to getting back to his best in the game after several weeks out injured during the summer.

Hazard insists it’s the manager’s choice to replace him at any time in a game

“I don’t know, I don’t know. I think sometimes the manager wants me on the bench at the end of the game.

I pushed to the maximum, I’ve just come back from the injury, so he made his choice. ‘Sometimes the guy who comes on the pitch scores the goal, so I have nothing to say about this.”

Chelsea will return to league action this weekend against Watford after losing our last two games in the top flight. Watford’s form gives us no encouragement and Conte needs to tighten up his defense and find a way to repeat the goal numbers we recorded against Roma last Wednesday.
