Chelsea given Champions League boost with news of fresh injury

Chelsea face Roma in the Champions League midweek, and the good news for Antonio Conte’s team is that their opposition have picked up an injury to a key player. It might just give the home team the edge as they look to secure their position at the top of the group.

The Blues have plenty of their own injury issues to worry about, but they aren’t the only ones. Kostas Manolas, the Roma defender who has been linked with a host of top European clubs over the last few summers, picked up an “abductor” injury while playing against Napoli at the weekend, according to the Metro.

Having sold Antonio Rudiger to Chelsea in the summer, Roma will really be struggling at the back in midweek, and Chelsea must do everything in their power to take advantage of that. The return of Alvaro Morata would be a huge boost to Antonio Conte’s side as they look to bounce back from their own disappointing result.
