Chelsea fans may not see midfielder in action for almost another month

Chelsea may be without Danny Drinkwater for another month despite returning to training alone this week.

The summer signing was Chelsea’s hope of adding depth to a thin squad during the transfer window, when he was signed on deadline day, but he has been far from adding any number to what Conte has in his midfield this season.

The former Leicester City midfielder was ruled out with knee injury when he signed for us but has since recovered from that and suffered a calf injury.

He trained alone on Monday but could not make the grade to be part of Antonio Conte’s first team options in our Champions League game against AS Roma.

And according to the Express, the England international could be missed for another three weeks as he recovery has been slow.

Conte wants him back as much as Chelsea fans who want to see their new player in action, but his calf problems are in the way at the moment.
