Chelsea defender ranks among Premier League’s best passers

Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen has impressed everyone who’s watched him this season, and his stats back up what the naked eye has seen.

The Dane was on the bench for his country this week, but he’s already made three starts in the Premier League for Chelsea this season and come off the bench three times for a total of 344 minutes.

In that time he’s mainly been filling in for David Luiz at the heart of the back three, and he’s taken up the Brazilian’s mantle as the master passer for the Blues.

According to WhoScored, only six players have a higher pass success percentage than Christensen this season. His 92.3% is bettered only by top players like Mousa Dembele.

Luiz is back for the Blues next week against Crystal Palace, and Christensen may well drop out. But as we learned this week, young Andreas has been training across the back three, and this rate he’s going ot be appearing on the teamsheet regularly this season.
