Chelsea comeback win against Watford is huge warning to Manchester clubs

Chelsea produced a remarkable comeback against Watford in the Premier League last Saturday to send an important message to the North of England, that the title race is not over to the Blues of the south.

There were jitters, as there were nerves that filled Stamford Bridge when Roberto Pereyra scored Watford’s second of the game. Tensions were sky high, Chelsea fans thought it might be a repeat of the result against Crystal Palace, just a week prior.

Abdoulaye Doucoure had equalized Pedro’s stunner in the first half to give the Hornets some belief they could continue their high flying form at the Bridge, but Chelsea’s players had other ideas.

They wanted to send a message to their fans, but more importantly, send the fastest Game of Thrones-esque raven to Manchester, informing their top clubs City and United what’s coming in the coming weeks in the top flight.

The message was simple and piercing at the same time – We are the champions and we still have fight in us.

Chelsea’s recovery in the game against Watford was never to be witnessed during Jose Mourinho’s last days with us in 2015.

Our title defense then was abysmal, but its safe to say we are defending it in a topsy turvy way this season.

Antonio Conte’s boys scored three more through Michy Bathsuayi and Cezar Azpilicueta to save the day and secure the much needed three points for us.

The resilience, the positive attitude that did not let their shoulders drop, the willingness to fight for the shirt, with no respect to whoever is in charge as manager and the desire to do this for the fans might be just enough, although the thinness of the squad still remains a major problem for Conte and co.

Mr. Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will be alert to the situation change on the West of London, probably tinkering their seasonal strategies at the moment, while pointing to the win vs Watford, as the benchmark performance their boys must learn from, in difficult games this season.

Need I say, the Red Devils endured one this weekend at newly promoted Huddersfield?
