Former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic’s goal against Tottenham Hotspur has been nominated by FIFA among the 2016/17 goal of the season contenders.

The cracking goal was scored in the semi final of last season’s FA Cup when Chelsea clashed with Tottenham Hotspur.
Matic picked up a pass from Eden Hazard just outside the Spurs box and hit a rocket past Hugo Lloris. The ball went in off the bar at top speed, the camera men seemed fortunate to have captured it.

Matic was sold this summer to Manchester United for a reported £40 million after the player reportedly revealed interest in joining his former manager Jose Mourinho.
He has been a regular fixture in Mourinho side this season playing all five Premier League games as United sit top of the Premier League.
Chelsea however replaced Matic with two new midfield signings, both not exactly in top form for their new clubs. Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater came in this summer from Monaco and Leicester respectively but only the former has featured in the famous Blue shirt so far this season.
