Nigeria chief “working on” surprise Abraham transfer

Tammy Abraham is being courted by the Nigerian national side, who intend to make him the latest player to convert national team despite great success with England’s youth teams.

According the BBC, the London born forward is the latest target of the Nigerian Football Federation, who have already had success converting former England youth players and fellow Blues Victor Moses and Ola Aina.

The president of the NFF Amaju Pinnick said “we are working on getting Abraham.”

“Tammy is like my son. His father and I grew up in the same neighbourhood.”

While Tammy’s thoughts on who he would like to play for aren’t yet clear, he has had great success for England at youth level and has shown more than enough promise to feel that he will be able to soon make the step up to the senior team.

In fact, with the prospect of losing him now very real, Gareth Southgate might want to get on with getting the 19 year old his first senior cap to prevent losing any more talent.
