Diego Costa still does not want to play for Chelsea

Diego Costa is set to continue his ongoing feud with Chelsea as the Telegraph reports he will not be ready to accept a playing role at the club this season despite being named in Chelsea’s 25-man squad for the Premier League.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea named Costa in their squad to reduce the impact his legal team will have in their quest for playing freedom from London, as it means the club are not blocking him from playing for them.

The striker had said in the past he is ever ready to return to Atletico Madrid, the club he was signed from, after he received a text from Antonio Conte in June, that he was not part of the Italian manager’s plans this season.

That text from Conte, has sparked trouble between player and club that eventually saw Costa in Brazil, against the club’s requests and demands.

Chelsea seem ready to get Costa available for first team selection with their latest move, but the striker is still persistent, he will not play under Conte and wants out of the club by January.

Atletico were in talks to sign the 28-year old from Chelsea, but failed at it before the transfer deadline and will now have to focus on landing their man in the new year. They can still sign the forward after the transfer window however, although the player can’t play till January when their transfer embargo is lifted.

Costa is still in exile in Brazil and per the story by the Telegraph, he will remain there and defy the club’s orders of returning to London to train and make himself available for selection.
