Danny Drinkwater reveals ambitions in first words as Chelsea player

Danny Drinkwater says he is ready to win titles with Chelsea after completing a transfer deadline day move from Leicester City.

Drinkwater had made 217 appearances for Leicester before making the move to Chelsea, having being sent out on loan from boyhood club Manchester United several seasons before his Leicester days.

The midfielder was linked to the Blues towards the end of the transfer window and successfully completed the deal to the Premier League champions at 1:30am, the night of the deadline day.

Having won the Premier League title with the foxes two seasons ago, Drinkwater knows all about winning trophies and wants more of such tastes.

My emotions have been all over the place. There has been frustration, excitement, I have been nervous and I am just grateful the transfer is done.

Leicester has been great for me but I am looking to carry on from the season before last when we won the Premier League there and I want to win more trophies, which Leicester have understood and where better to do it than Chelsea?

I am at a good age now to kick on. I have gained a lot of experience in playing games and hopefully that will show.

The 27-year old will reunite with N’Golo Kante, the Frenchman with whom he devastatingly combined with to dominate the Leicester midfield in their march towards the unlikely title in 2016.
