Antonio Conte says N’Golo Kante may not be a world class player

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed he is delighted with the progress of N’Golo Kante this season after his goal at the King Power stadium last weekend.

The midfielder, known for his high energy levels in games and his combative style of play has attracted praise from his boss after his match winning exploits against his former side Leicester City.

Last season’s PFA Player of the Year and winner of the FWA  Player of the Year award as well started the game alongside Tiemoue Bakayoko, and is likely, to be the main midfield man for Conte as the Italian shuffles the pack alongside Kante.

Conte, when asked if the French international is a world class player, responded by insisting his performances are telling of his status.

Before a lot of people told me ‘yes, without the ball he has good stamina and is a good worker’. But now with the ball he has improved a lot.

I am happy for this because we are working a lot with him. Now I think he is a top player. It was an amazing performance from him. He scored but overall he made a lot of good runs. I don’t know if he is world class or not. But N’Golo is a really good player. To be be the best player in the Premier League last season is a great thing. And this season he is confirming it.

Conte further stated his relible combative midfielder will be availbale for Chelsea’s first European outing in over a year as the Blues welcome Qarabaq at Stamford Bridge in London.

“Tomorrow, for sure, he can recover really well and then prepare for the game against Qarabag. N’Golo is a very important player for us.” Conte said.

It looks likely that Conte might reshuffle his team in the game on Tuesday but Kante may not be affected by the changes.
