Antonio Conte expects a ‘ready’ Chelsea against Atletico Madrid

Chelsea fans can be assured of a ‘ready’ team when their side faces Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the Champions League.

The Blues thrashed Stoke City 4-0 at the bet365 stadium last Saturday and look buoyant going into the game against Diego Simeone’s side.

The Blues returned to Europe’s top competition this season after spending last season out of the competition. Their first outing came against Qarabag at Stamford Bridge, winning 6-0.

However, on Wednesday, Chelsea travel to the new Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico, and would become the first foreign opposition to play at the new stadium in Madrid.

Conte, as quoted by the Sun, is adamant his side are ready for the European battle.

It wasn’t easy despite the 4-0 result. We must be pleased and satisfied.

Now it’s important to rest well and prepare for another game against Atletico Madrid. We have to prepare in the right way for this tough game. In the last few years they’ve been strong in the Champions League, reaching two finals.

But we are in good shape. We are rotating and the answer from my players is positive. We will be ready.

Antonio Conte, Sun

It will be an interesting game between the two, after recent dealings involving the transfer of Diego Costa to the Madrid club.
