Alvaro Morata tells Chelsea teammates what trophy to fight for this season

Chelsea new striker Alvaro Morata has sent a message to his teammates concerning the main title to reach for this season.

The new arrival from Real Madrid is a winner of several titles from his playing days with the Loc Blancos and Juventus, having won the Champions League, La Liga, Serie A and several other trophies.

His wealth of experience at such a young age of 24 will help galvanize Chelsea in reaching for more trophies than the Premier League title they won last season.

It is clear Morata’s best of all the trophies he has won in his short career is the Champions League, and he told the Evening Standard, he wants his new side to win a second in their history.

For me the Champions League is the main prize you can win, both as a club and as a player.

I have lived through the experience of playing in this competition with both Juventus and Real Madrid – and I have won titles. This season I am playing to win again. It will be a special success for me if we can do it.

Alvaro Morata, Evening Standard

Chelsea return to Europe’s elite competition this season having missed out on last season’s campaign following a disastrous season under Jose Mourinho in 2015 where the Blues finished 10th on the table.

Antonio Conte’s first Chelsea game as a Chelsea manager is against Azerbaijan side Qarabag FK on Tuesday night.
