Chelsea have been stood up by yet another player as a quite incredible deadline day takes another huge swerve.
Sky Sports are reporting that a £30m fee was agreed between Chelsea and Everton, and that the England international had travelled all the way to London to complete his medical.
Some confusion over whether or not Ross Barkley turned Chelsea down or failed his medical. Either way, it doesn't look to be happening

However partway through the attacking midfielder changed his mind, and he will now remain at Everton with his contract expiring next summer.
It just adds to the confusion around Barkley’s situation, which has seen the attacking midfielder refuse to sign a new deal at Everton. He has effectively been replaced by big money signing Gyfli Sigurdsson, and the Toffees were probably looking forward to getting a decent fee for the player who they will otherwise lose for free next summer.
Chelsea are not as desperate for a player in Barkley’s position as they are in others, but it will still be a blow to Antonio Conte and his team.
