Chelsea instruct Diego Costa to return to training base

Chelsea have sent a clear message to Diego Costa and his representatives to return to club’s training base ahead of a possible move out of the club.

The order comes a day after Costa granted an interview to Sports Mail, he is ready to spend the rest of his contract in Brazil, even if it means he is not paid his salaries.

The Telegraph says he wants Chelsea to sell him if they do not require his services next season and also confirmed his interest in joining Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea however expect Costa to rejoin his teammates in training, as his contract demands, ahead of any deal struck with a club. He prefers Atletico but Chelsea and the Spanish club are far apart in negotiations.

Simeone’s side are banned from fielding new players this summer and can only add Costa to their squad in January but are keen on bringing back their former striker who helped them win the Spanish La Liga and march to the Champions League final.

Atletico remain confident in signing the player as they will be required to pay Costa’s high weekly wage of £150,000, they are proving slugging in their attempts to sign him up.

Costa revealed earlier this summer Antonio Conte has sent him a text to leave the club and has stayed out of the club’s pre season training as well as the season’s start.

The former Atletico forward in currently in Lagarto, a remote town in Brazil’s city of Aracaju.

He’s been spotted skiing with a dog, attending a circus and partying in an Atletico shirt.
